The Haven Missionary Care Center is a non-denominational ministry to evangelical, Christ-following missionaries and pastors.
Our goal is for all our guests to stay free of charge. If you desire to donate, the suggested donation is $25/day per teen and adult guests.
While visiting The Haven, our prayer is that each guest be ministered to by the Holy Spirit. There is no specific agenda for your activities although we do encourage taking plenty of time to rest and catch your breath. We will provide details regarding shopping, restaurants, and recreation in our area. Again, the goal of The Haven is to provide a place for you to meet with the Lord and refresh spiritually and physically. If you want to get away to the Outer Banks or Millpond State Park with your family for a day, we have information (and even beach towels!) - just ask.
Yes, we have built an extensive library of books and DVDs for that purpose. You are welcome to use our library during your visit; however, these items are not available for you to check out and take with you. We also have a large assortment of children’s books, games, and puzzles.
No. We are unable to accommodate pets. If you are accompanied by a service animal, do you have a disability that requires a service animal? Please state on your 'Request for Accommodations" form the specific tasks your service animal is trained to perform in order to aid you in your disability. If you are accepted as our guest, you must keep your service animal with you at all times.
Access to our guest quarters requires climbing 16 steps. If your handicap will not allow that climb, then we will not be able to accommodate you.
Upon your arrival, we may provide a meal, snack or beverage, depending on your needs. We also provide basic breakfast and lunch items for you to prepare on your own meals. You will have the use of a well equipped kitchen to prepare your own food. Groceries are available at nearby shops or at our closest Walmart/Food Lion/Piggly Wiggly (about 20 minutes away). There are two local restaurants with limited hours within 10 miles and a variety of fast food establishments in the nearby town of Ahoskie.
Guests may stay for a maximum of two weeks. We are much more than a place to find lodging in your travels. We encourage at least a two-night visit in order to accomplish the ministry for which we believe God has set us apart. Our vision is to see Christian missionaries and pastors refreshed through personal and spiritual renewal. Our prayer is for you to rise to your full potential of ministry as you return to your field of service.
We provide towels, linens, and pillows. There are plenty of sample toiletries for your use, as well. A washer and dryer are available for our guests to use during their stay. There is a laundromat nearby for large items like sleeping bags and quilts. Please bring your personal clothes and food if you are on a special diet.

We are in a rural area, but we do have a very active, 24/7 Rescue & EMS Squad (Call 911). The closest hospital is 15 miles away and 24-hour medical attention (Urgent Care Clinic) is also available within a 45-minute drive. There is basic dental & optical care available as well within a 30-mile radius.
